5 Wire Resistive Touch Screen

When durability and reliability are needed, the 5-wire resistive touch screen is the preferred choice.  Unlike 4-wire and 8-wire, 5 wire touch screens measure voltage drop on the bottom circuit layer only.  The top layer is just a shorting pad.  As a result, the micro-damage to the coverlay does not render the screen unusable.  All of the patterning on the ITO is done on the bottom layer.  This provides an accurate, reliable and long life touch screen.
